Things my two year old says

We all know kids say the darnedest things.

So, what silly things have been heard here lately?

It's no secret that Vivi is both very clever and sassy. Every time her mouth opens, I fully expect some sentiment to laugh and marvel over. How exactly does she come up with these things? There's something so fascinating about this stage when her sense of humor is being developed as well as new phrases being added and tested out daily.

Ways to get out of a dinner that you just don't want to eat no matter how many tricks mama has up her sleeve; " I can't eat it right now, my mouth isn't working!"  Well then, I can't argue with a broken mouth.

Things she has picked up in passing? Try "Hun", courtesy of her daddy. "Hey hun, I want my cup." "Check it out,Hun!" "That's so cool,Hun!" Hearing "hun" from a pint sized chatter box will make you laugh every time, I promise.

Then there is the dramatic "Stop it! Ouch! Don't hurt me!" thrown at you from across the room at the mere mention of something she does not find pleasing. Bedtime? "No! Don't hurt me!" Clean up your toys? "Ouch! Stop it!" That one is sure to garner some looks sooner or later. I can just see it now - a meltdown in the grocery store when I say "no" to some random request. Cue the sad sounding "Don't hurt me!" I can only imagine the looks I'll get. Oh my.

Finally, one of my favorite new tactics of hers: trying to reason with us. Nap time? "I'll take a nap on the couch/stairs/etc." Two year olds are actually really good at negotiations. Don't look them in the eye, don't show your fear, they will win every time.

What are your littles saying these days? Any good ones to share?

We'll eat you up,
We love you so.
